UPDATE August 2011

Having the picnic inside Palomar was a great success. Here are a few photos from the picnic. Food was fantastic and everything worked out perfectly!

UPDATE May 16 2011

Please mark your calendars for our annual Palomar Park picnic on July 16th from 11-3 PM(?) at 48 South Palomar Drive (home of Danny and Eleni Woerz). We're doing things a little different this year in that we've decided to have this in our neighborhood and make it a true block party. We will be blocking off the street and have tents, chairs and a large open area for games and relaxation. We are planning to have several grills going and would like to encourage participants to bring (not a requirement) a pot luck dish of some kind (salad, side or desert).

One thing we can do together to build a sense of community is to get out to see and spend time together and this block party/picnic gives us the perfect opportunity to do so. Please join us on July 16th to visit with your neighbors, have some great food and remind ourselves how fortunate we are to live in such a great area with great people. Because this year we'll be having the picnic off of the Clifford School campus, you can bring alcoholic beverages if you want - so consider this event a BYOB event this year!

UPDATE May 8 2011

Come celebrate the joy of living in this beautiful place called Palomar Park!  The annual Palomar Park picnic is on for Saturday, July 16th from 12 noon to 3:00pm.  This year we've planned a "block party" style picnic to be held on South Palomar.  Danny and Eleni Woerz have graciously consented to have "ground zero" be located in front of their home at 48 South Palomar Drive.  We will be blocking off South Palomar in the immediate vicinity of their home with canopy structures for shade, plenty of chairs (although feel free to bring a folding chair of your own), and a large open area for games.  We plan to have several grills going offering delicious barbecue delights and wafting tantalizing aromas that should make us the envy of lesser organized neighborhoods for miles around.!   Although not a requirement we would like to encourage attendees to bring along a pot luck style side dish, salad or dessert.

This is the one time each year when we have the opportunity to join with neighbors to share good times and the joy of living in such a wonderful community.  Please plan to join us for an afternoon of food, fun and festivities.  The Palomar Park Homeowners Association is sponsoring the event and would like to encourage non-members to join in the celebration.  Non-members can avoid the nominal charge of $5.00 per non-member by simply using this year's picnic as your excuse to join the association at the still unbelievable rate of $50 per year!  In addition, there will be special incentives for non-members that could more than off set the nominal annual membership fee let alone the minimal cost of the picnic.

So everyone, mark your calendars now and plan to make this year's Palomar Park Picnic the best celebration ever.
