2015 SUMMER PICNIC

2015 saw another sucessful picnic 'up on the hill' on upper S. Palomar at the top of Cervantes rather than down at Clifford school. We had another year with about 100 guests. As previously, the main meat dishes were cooked by our resident expert chefs (you know who you are) and folks brought side dishes to share as in past years.

July 2012 (July 14 - watch for signs) - ANNUAL PICNIC

The 2012 Annual Palomar Park Picnic was held this July again as a block party on upper S. Palomar at the top of Cervantes.

The 2011 picnic was a great success and 2012 was as good or even better!

The 2011 Annual Palomar Park Picnic was held as a block party on upper S. Palomar at the top of Cervantes. The theme in 2010 was American BBQ and a Clifford School graduate who owns Emergency BBQ cooked our food on site for us. This year, we'll repeat the block party theme as the hosts have invited us again for 2012!

The 2011 picnic was a great success and we plan to repeat the same next year!

BOARD MEETINGS (PALOMAR PROPERTY OWNERS BOARD)

TOPICS OF 2012 APRIL 24 MEETING
* Save The Bay Talk
 Stephen Knight, Save the Bay's Political Director will speak about Save The Bay. For more information online see: www.savesfbay.org website. The website has information on how to become a volunteer with Save The Bay and information about the history and future plans of the organization.
* Parking and Traffic Problems at Clifford School
  We will discuss ongoing problems with traffic congestion, traffic safety concerns, and parking problems at Clifford School. The County is looking at changing parking and or regulating traffic flow to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety during pick up and drop off times at Clifford School. These changes will impact traffic coming in and out of Palomar Park. Before the County acts, we want input from Palomar residents so we can represent Palomar Park to the school and County as they implement solutions to the problems. Possible concerns are restrictions on how residents exit and enter the bottom of Palomar under different traffic control situations.
* Sudden Oak Death Prevention
 We will give an update on SOD prevention program in Palomar Park and how the unusual weather conditions of this winter have played out as far as SOD in Palomar is concerned. Those residents who are working with Rob Weatherhill may have heard already from him befoer the meeting, but one may want to contact him pro-actively to coordinate Spring spraying for their properties.
* 1175 Cell Tower Site update
 The major cell carriers continue their quest to greatly expand the 1175 cell tower site in outer Palomar. Latest efforts go so far as to even exceed the legal regulations for allowed EMF emissions for cell sites. An update on status will be presented.
* Edgewood Canyon Development
 An update on the current status of the filling of Edgewood Canyon and proposed subsequent developments will be presented. A minor reduction to the total level of fill has been proposed as well as other changes which modify the overall development proposal and may change its impact on Palomar Park.
* Owl Boxes for Palomar Park
 We'll talk more about our plans for an owl box assembly party tentatively planned for late June. The goal is to have boxes made and ready to be put up before the coming Fall season.
* Name Sign Restoration / Mail Box Repairs
 We'll discuss the timeline for this summer's work towards the ongoing repair of the name signs and sign boards in Palomar Park and the repair and maintenance of Palomar Park mail boxes.
* July 14 Picnic
 We'll discuss plans for the upcoming Palomar Park community picnic to take place this July.
* Treasurer's Report
 PPO financial report.
* Members Q&A
 Input from members on topics not addressed in the meeting and/or follow up discussions on meeting items.
