Palomar Park Fire Hydrant Painting - September 2008

The County and fire departments were kind enough to point out to us that some (meaning all) of our fire hydrants were obscured by brush and poison oak and needed digging out as well as fresh paint, but they didn't seem to think it important enough that there was a budget to actually have anyone from the County or fire come and do the work. Dedicated Palomar Park residents came to the rescue. In September 2008, Audrey Hargis, Danny and Eleni Woerz, Jeff Garratt, Paul Peuker, Carol Mondino, Emile Kishek, Kathryn Bedbury and Kurt Oppenheimer all got together and cleared out access to hydrants, prepped them for painting, and repainted them in one giant effort.
